This week's PPT as well as tasks are now posted to their corresponding pages.

I have also added numerous tips: Writing leads, news stories, headlines, and copyediting.

Additionally, you do not need to read Chapter 8!

Tasks and week 7 PPT are now available.

Please do not forget that your tasks include brainstorming in the form of leads, reading Chapter 7 if you haven't yet done so, and Chapter 6 workbook exercises.

Next week, I will finish talking about Chapter 7 focusing on headlines. We will also go over Chapter 6's workbook exercises in addition to more leads practice.

Week 6 Tasks are as follows: Read Chapters 6 & 7 AND Brainstorming news story ideas.

You will have a news quiz next week so please be prepared. You will be expected to write the most important 6 W's in the style of a BRIEF lead, NOT an AP style lead.

I advise that you begin to get more closely acquainted with the AP stylebook and the TIME to Write section of your Journalism Today textbook. We will continually refer to both as we begin the writing process.

Tomorrow, I will post new tips, student resources, week 6 tasks, lecture notes and week 6's PPT so check back some time tomorrow evening!
